Astron Antenna Co. Acquires Northpoint Communication
Products
Sterling, VA, July 2, 2001. Astron Antenna Co. announced today
the acquisition of Northpoint Communication Products, maker of
LoPro brand low-profile antennas for mobile and fixed wireless
applications.
Northpoint's sales and administration offices currently based in
Chapel Hill, North Carolina, will be moved to Sterling, Virginia
where production of the LoPro brand antennas will begin immediately.
"We are very pleased on having Northpoint part of the Astron
team. Northpoint's product offerings for wireless mobile applications
will allow Astron to offer its' customers a diversity of mobile
antenna solutions. Conversely, Astron will now be able to offer
Northpoint customers a variety of standard base station antennas
for fixed wireless applications as well as custom design through
manufacturing services. As we move forward, the merging of the
two companies will also provide cross marketing opportunities through
Northpoint's established distribution and dealer channels. This
added product visibility will result in immediate and long term
sales growth for both entities," stated James Jalbert, President
and CEO of Astron.
Astron Antenna Co. has been designing and manufacturing antennas
for over 22 years for both commercial and military applications.
They manufacture for Cellular, PCS, LAN/WAN, Data/Spread Spectrum
and Two-way Radio applications just to name a few. In addition
to standard antennas, Astron is a leading provider of custom OEM
antennas. Beyond antenna development, Astron also provides its
customers with cable assemblies, power dividers and lightning protection.
