ASTRON ANTENNA CORPORATION ACQUIRES ANTENNACO
Sterling, Va, November 19, 1997 - Today, Astron Corporation announced
the acquisition of Antennaco, a leading provider of antennas
for wireless communications. Astron also announced that all Antennaco
products will continue to be sold under the Antennaco™ brand
name.
Currently based in New Hampshire, all operations will be moved
to Astron's facilities in Sterling, Virginia. Joe Reisert, President
of Antennaco will remain with Astron as a technical consultant. "It
was a difficult decision for me to abandon my pursuit of making
Antennaco one of the premier antenna companies in the US, but,
doing so will allow me the opportunity to focus primarily on
antenna design. We are most proud of the fact that Antennaco's
antennas have met or exceeded customer needs in such diverse
environments as Wall Street and the Arctic and continue to do
so worldwide. Recognizing Astron's own reputation for quality
high performance products, the merger of Antennaco and Astron
seemed a natural. As we continue the relationship, I look forward
to adding my expertise to the already strong Astron technical
capability and the combined Astron Antennaco product line",
said Joe Reisert.
Antennaco manufactures a high quality line of antennas from Lo
bands through 2.5 GHZ. These antennas are available in directional
and omnidirectional designs with a focus on the spread spectrum
(LAN marketplace). For example, Antennaco's low profile "MicroCell" hemi
antenna has been well accepted by VAR's and system integrators
as a reliable interface between handheld transmitters and desktop
systems and other network nodes regardless of the antennas orientation.
The superior radiation pattern makes this antenna an excellent
choice for warehouse, office or hallway applications.

author, a guest speaker, and acknowledged expert in the field
of antenna design. Coupled with the experience of Astron's Chief
Engineer, Glenn Brown and his technical staff, Astron will have
assembled one of the most formidable RF teams in the industry.
